Let's Go Fly a Kite! Up to the highest height!

I want to talk about kites.

I have fallen in love with kites this spring. They let me be outside in the open air to look at the beautiful blue skies - to feel the sun on my skin. I'm going to live it up this summer because I feel that I missed last summer due to pregnancy and my gall bladder problems.

I purchased this beautiful kite. I love it so much. I think that I'm going to start collecting kites. Only a few - I don't want to go ever board like I have with my beads. They aren't TOO expensive - and I don't need too many. The first one I bought was a 2 handed kite and i just couldn't handle it. It was too wild and there were too many strings to deal with. So I went back to basics and purchased this simple well made kite and I'm very happy with it.

Almost there kite! Just a little higher.

Here she is in action. I think each kite I buy should have a pet name. What should I name this one? Tell me what I should name this kite on my jewlery fan page and get entered to win a free pair of earrings!

Beautiful Days

Today the hoarfrost on the trees was absolutely AMAZING. It would have been a shame not to get out so I got Evy out on his sled and we went around the block. BOY is it hard to pull a sled on the cement. There isn't snow all the way around the block, on the streets and sidewalks. Evy tipped over in the sled at one point. Poor boy :( I was trying to pull him through snow that was too deep. He got a big cold wet faceplant into the snow. I was very suprised he didn't cry. I picked him up dusted off his face and wrapped him back up in his blanket and put him back in the sled. What a trooper!

By the time we were walking back home the frost on the trees had started to melt. But I got a few amazing photos <3

Compared to what it is like here normally we've barely had ANY snow this year. It's kind of odd being able to go outside a bit, not wearing a toque or mitts. I think we're going to have a hot dry summer. Or a very wet summer because we've had no snow this winter.
